Inauguration of vinification and stockage center.

Gran Cruz opens today in Alijó, a vinification and logistics center, an investment totaling to € 16 million in order to centralize the production, storage and treatment of wines of the group operations.

The President of Portugal, Professor Aníbal Cavaco Silva, was invited to preside over the inauguration of the new infrastructure.

The development will include two wineries, with a capacity of six thousand tons of grapes purchased from 3,200 winegrowers of the municipalities of Alijó, Murça, Sabrosa, Carrazeda Ansiães and Vila Flor.

A second winery, smaller, fully independent, will be used for premium wines of Porto and Douro with a capacity for 600 tons of grapes.

The logistics center storage has a capacity of twenty-two million liters of wine and distilled grape spirit.
Gran Cruz intends to concentrate in one place the "stocks" that were scattered around various locations in the region.
